Two of our golfers who work at Elizabeth Seton High School invite you to paritcipate in this FUN tournament.  Candy Cage is the Athletic Director there and Cindy Peake is a teacher.  The girls’ school (grades 9-12) is a non-profit owned and operated by Daughters of Charity.  GWGA has one foursome already signed up, but it would be great to have more of you.  Please email Candy ccage13@yahoo.com or Cindy.Peake@aol.com if you wish to be part of a foursome; or you can set up your own by going to the link below.

Included in the $135 fee: Golf, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner (soft drinks, beer, wine); welcome bag; contests: putting, long drive and closest to the pin contests.

• The GOLF sign-up for the April 21st shotgun will be published early: this Thursday, April 14 at 7pm and it will CLOSE on Sunday evening April 17.  Ten guests will golf with us on the 21st and Eileen will put together the foursomes, so the sign up will be a simple RSVP versus signing up to start on a particular hole.

• Reminder to bring your $8 lunch money to the clubhouse Thursday.  The LUNCH sign up is closed.  If you will not be at the clubhouse Thursday, mail your check to Wanda Martinson, her address is in the directory. Questions about lunch should be directed to Wanda at wandamartinson@gmail.com.

Did you know…

• The first Tee Time sign-up is this Sunday April 3 at 7pm!   Remember – You never really need the email to sign up.  All you need to do is google/search “sign up genius”, click the “login” (top right of screen) and enter your email and personal password. (If it’s your first time on Sign Up Genius, you will need to create your account and password)  You will then see sign-ups you’ve been “invited to” — after 7p.m. — you will find the Greendale Sign ups waiting there for you!  If for some goofy reason you do not receive the sign-up email, don’t panic, just go directly to the site!!

• You can invite guests to the April 21 Captain’s Choice and Shotgun – Jeanie, our Membership Chair, sent an electronic invitation to a list of over 75 golfers who play in other local leagues. She included each of you on the invitation so you could see it and forward it to any friends who might want to play the Captain’s Choice with us.  Invite someone!

• We are having Lunch following the Captain’s Choice  – Wanda Martinson is organizing a lunch for us following the shotgun.  Watch for the lunch sign up this Sunday night April 3.  Deadline for lunch sign up is April 7.  Golf sign up will be a separate sign-up, published later.

• Two great golf instructional articles are posted on our GWGA Facebook Group page. One is about how to perfect approach shots, and one offers help with the common error of topping the ball.  Check them out!  Most of you have joined this group; if you haven’t yet, you will need to create your own password before you can see the page.  Feel free to share photos, videos, news, tournament invitations and more within our group.

• You are expected to turn your cell phones off during league play tournaments! Please remind your family and friends your phone will be off Thursday morning.

Golfers, if you missed our Spring business meeting, please read the following information you need to know about!

New members – We currently have 52 members.  Welcome to Tracy Szcepaniak, Joan Tadlock, and Jane Shapiro, and  welcome back to Sherry Shaeffer, a former member returning after several years absence!

Each member is asked to sign up for a task – GWGA needs the help of all members.  A list of tasks was circulated at the meeting and each member is asked to sign up for something.  You will find the clipboard with the list on the table the first few weeks of league play.  Please look for it and sign up.

Pre-Season practice day.  Thursday, March 31st.  Sign up coming out sunday March 27 around 7 p.m.

First league day April 7.  Sign up will be out Sunday evening, April 3 around 7 p.m.

Golf lessons with Golf Pro Peter Kim – Peter will have the following clinics, each for 4 to 10 people per lesson:  Bring your checkbook March 31 to reserve your spot.  Space limited.  Sign ups will be on the table in the clubhouse as long as space is available.

• April 7, Chipping $10  1:30-2:30
• April 14, Full Swing $10  1:30 – 2:30
• April 28, Course management $10  1:30 – 2:30

Penn National Oct 17-19.  $20 deposit is required to get on the list.  Bring your checkbook to the clubhouse.
