The Greendale Women’s Golf Association plays once a week on Thursdays at Greendale Golf Course in Fairfax County, Virginia. The playing season begins the first Thursday in April and ends the last Thursday in October. The league has weekly tournament games with monetary prizes awarded at the end of the season. Examples of games are low net, low gross minus one-putts, and low gross. Team games are also played such as Captain’s Choice, 2 person best ball, and others. Each year we also have a championship tournament and monetary awards are given to club champion and flight winners at the end of season luncheon. We also organize playing at other golf courses through out the season.
There is an annual spring meeting in March and an awards luncheon/business meeting in November. See “Join GWGA“.
In addition to the membership fee, greens fees are paid by each member directly to Greendale Golf Course each time the member plays. The GWGA is a separate entity from Greendale Golf Course.
The league was organized over 30 years ago and the first championship tournament was in 1980. See our current list of League Champions. The league is administered by a five person GWGA board of directors.
